Human Rights Congress 2018

On the Occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Commission on Human Rights and the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE) held the Human Rights Congress of 2018 with the theme Unity and Action for Human Rights.

On the Occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Commission on Human Rights and the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE) held the Human Rights Congress of 2018 with the theme Unity and Action for Human Rights. The event will be held on December 6 and 7, 2018 at the Ateneo de Manila University Leong Hall as part of the Human Rights Week celebrations.

Objectives:

At the end of the two day conference, representatives of civil society organizations and the Commission on Human Rights,  would have achieved unity and action as reflected by the following outcomes:

  1. Agreed on a common human rights agenda that will be pursued by civil society organizations and CHR at the national and regional level using all available platforms, including the upcoming national elections;
  2. Forged stronger alliances and partnerships between CSOs and CHR at the regional level by uniting on a common local agenda and plan of action;
  3. Broadened the human rights movement by involving and engaging non-traditional partners and sectors in human rights education, promotion and protection;
